Appointment Scheduler
The Appointment Scheduler works in conjunction with the Treatment Plan feature in your Data Team DDS program. The primary functions of the Scheduler will allow you to: mark an appointment length in a given chair on a given day at a given time, designate the individual you are going to treat during the visit, designate the procedures you are going to perform during the visit, create an appointment display detailing name, phone numbers, and procedures, view total production scheduled for a day, look up existing appointments by patient or find available appointments based upon patient criteria, and print a list of each day displaying each appointment complete with this information.
You will see immediately there are certain features that enhance the Scheduler use. The treatment plan feature is a natural fit. It reduces the amount of work required when scheduling appointments by already having the diagnosed work listed. Instead of using several keystrokes, you use only one.
As with all Data Team programs, your Appointment Scheduler is multi-terminal. You can write to the Scheduler from any terminal. This, of course, has the potential to change the way you use employees or the way you distribute responsibilities among your employees.
You can have the recall visits scheduled by the hygienist, the follow-up or continuing treatment scheduled by the assistant, etc. This approach reduces the need for interoffice communication and reduces the chance for errors since the primary server knows exactly how much time and when an appointment will be.
Your front office personnel will be able to focus on other tasks such as collecting payment for each visit, which may be secondary in the usual system, while still having access to the Appointment Scheduler to handle incoming calls, make changes, and confirm appointments.
