Electric Claims Using Envoy

Sending claims with WebMD Commlink (Envoy) software requires you to submit an application for their services. There is no registration fee. When claims are sent to an insurance company that accepts electronic claims, the cost per claim is 20 to 45 cents. If the insurance company does not accept electronic claims, WebMD will print a plain paper claim and mail it for you at a cost of 50 cents per claim. If you would like an application or would like Data Team to complete the enrollment for you, please let us know.

Once you have submitted your enrollment form, WebMD will provide you with a TSO number within 3-5 days. When you have your TSO number, you may install the Commlink 3.08 software. You may either download the software from our web site, or request a copy on disk from Data Team. If you get the software from Data Team, installation instructions will be provided.

Downloading instructions can be found at www.datateamdds.com. Once the file has been downloaded, begin the installation by double-clicking on the COMMLINK.EXE icon.

You will see a screen like the one below. Choose Yes to begin!

Click Next on each of the following screens to continue. When the installation is complete, click Finish and restart your computer.

Your Commlink software is now ready for you to enter your personal settings.

Make sure that the Site Code in Business Description is 1111. Also, make sure that autoexec.bat contains the line set commlink=c:\dds (this has been set for you if you installed the Commlink software provided by Data Team or downloaded from this site).

Open your Data Team DDS program and click on Insurance, then Electronic Filing, then Settings/Reports. You will see a screen like the one below:

Modem Setup: Using your mouse, click on Configuration then Modem Setup. Enter your modem settings here. If you do not know your modem settings, click here to find out how.

Click Save when you are finished entering your modem settings.

Host Setup: Click on the Host Setup section of the menu. Make sure the settings are as follows:

Click Save when you are finished entering your host settings.

Session Setup (Part 1): Click on the Session Setup section of the menu. Change the Session Name to Send - Dental Claims. Make sure the settings are as follows:

Click Save when you are finished entering your session settings.

Session Setup (Part 2): Click on the Session Setup section of the menu. Change the Session Name to Receive - Dental Reports. Make sure the settings are as follows:

Click Save when you are finished entering your session settings.

Now click Return To Main, then Exit. You are now ready to begin filing electronically!
