Electric Claims

If you have purchased the Electronic Insurance Filing capability, you may file claims by modem as opposed to printing and mailing paper forms. Filing claims electronically eliminates the hassle of printing and mailing paper forms and significantly reduces the time it takes to receive insurance payments.

Since electronic claims are processed through a clearing house, you may file claims for almost any insurance company electronically. The clearing house electronically routes claims for companies that accept electronic claims, and prints standard ADA claim forms for companies that do not. The only claims you can not send electronically are those for carriers who do not accept electronic or standard ADA paper claims.

To Check If You Purchased The Electronic Claims Option:

  1. Select Business Description from the Settings Menu.
  2. If Electric Claims is set to Y in the Options Purchased box, you have purchased this option. If it is set to N and you would like to add this capability to your system, contact Data Team.

Your Data Team system can submit claims electronically in one of two formats. Setup instructions for each of these formats:

Follow the setup instructions for only one of the formats. Both formats provide almost identical services. REC's format covers most insurance carriers, however, WebClaim is Windows based and works with all modems types.

When done with setup, refer to Electronic Filing Operating Procedures for a better understanding of the electronic filing process.
