Referred By

Edit (Referred By)

This selection lets you create/edit records for referral sources who are not patients (such as doctors and promotional pieces).

When you select this option, the system will display the referrers already on file. You will be able to search by name or number. Double-click on the name of the desired referrer.

If the referral source is not reflected on the list, click the Insert button to add it.

Report for One (Referred By)

This provides a report of all the referrals made by a particular source.

  1. When you select this option, the system asks if the referral source you want the report for is a Patient or Other.
  2. It you select Patient, the system asks for the patient's name or account number when you click the Change button. If you select Other, the system asks for the referral source's name or account number when you click the Change button. Double-click the patient’s account number or type the first few letters of the last and first name to look it up alphabetically.
  3. The system then asks for a range of dates you want it to search for referrals from that source.
  4. Last of all, it asks if you want the report to include the names of the patients who were referred.

If you check this box, the name and referral date of each patient who was referred by that source between the range of dates you specified will be included on the report.

NOTE: If you enter your typical response to this question at the Report Settings screen, the system will default to this response whenever asking this question. In most cases, you could then click Print to accept this default when the question is asked.

If you always want to respond to this question in the same manner, indicate so on the Report Settings screen and the system will not ask this question each time you run this report. See Report Settings.

The report will tally how many referrals were made during the specified time period and how many referrals have been made overall by this source.

NOTE: The "number of referrals made" figures only include those patients that are still active. Patients referred who have since been deleted or archived ARE NOT included.
